AI Tools Available Through Tuck
Available Microsoft Copilot 365
Integrate AI into Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more. Features appear after your license is assigned.
Also available — enabled for everyone
New Microsoft Cowork Faculty, staff & students
Describe an outcome and Cowork carries out the steps across Microsoft 365 — email, scheduling, documents, decks, Teams posts, deep research — pausing for your approval before sensitive actions.
To open it: in Microsoft Copilot, select Cowork in the top toggle next to Chat — it is not a separate app. If the toggle isn’t there, check the left rail or under All agents. Available to faculty, staff, and students, with no request needed. For courses, contact Tuck IT so we can plan capacity for the group in advance.
Cowork draws on a monthly credit allotment; Copilot Chat does not. When you reach your limit it stops until the next month — faculty and staff can request more with a business case, students wait for the reset. Use Chat where it will do, and lower the Effort level for routine tasks. Approved for all data levels, including High-risk. Not the same as Claude Cowork, which is ITC-managed and limited to Low and Medium data.
Available amosAI (NebulaONE)
An innovative AI platform piloted by Tuck to enhance educational, research, and administrative processes.
Available ChatGPT EDU
Access the latest GPT flagship models in a private Dartmouth environment, with the ability to create custom GPTs for your courses, research, or team workflows.
New Lovable All students · faculty by request
An AI prototyping platform that turns a plain-language description into a working web application. Build, refine, test, and share a prototype without much coding experience, which makes it well suited to course projects that need something people can actually click through.
How to Get Started
- Go to lovable.dev
- Select Log in, then continue with your email address
- Enter your full Tuck email address
- Sign in on the Dartmouth page and complete MFA if prompted
Note: always start at lovable.dev. A personal or Google account will not reach the Tuck workspace and you will be asked to pick a plan instead.
Lovable @ Tuck — full guide
Not approved for restricted, confidential, or regulated data, including sponsor-provided data. Use synthetic data sets where you need realistic inputs, and never include credentials or personal information about classmates, participants, or customers.
Assume anything you publish can be seen by anyone with the link. See the
Tuck AI Data Sensitivity Guide.
Access ends at graduation, and projects stored in the Tuck workspace go with it. Sync code to a personal GitHub repository before you leave if you want to keep it.
Dartmouth-Wide AI Resources Requires NetID
Claude (Anthropic)
Claude for Education is Anthropic’s AI assistant for higher education, available to students, faculty, and staff through a university-wide access agreement.
How to Get Started
- Go to claude.dartmouth.edu — Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge are recommended
- Log in via SSO with your NetID and password
- Follow the prompts to set preferences during account setup for the best Claude experience
Also available — by request, faculty and staff only
New Claude Cowork Faculty & staff only
Works more independently than chat — opens and edits files, browses, and completes multi-step tasks across connected apps. Start a task on your desktop and check it from your phone. No cost, and no course-based request route.
New Claude Code Faculty & staff · by request
Write, debug, and manage code from a terminal rather than a chat window. Free until January 2027, but a chart string is required to claim a license. Runs in a separate Claude environment from chat. For courses, the faculty member teaching the class submits the request — students cannot request it individually.
Students: Claude chat above is available to you now with your NetID. Code and Cowork are provisioned by Dartmouth ITC for faculty and staff — Tuck IT cannot grant access. For Claude Code in a course, ask your instructor to request it.
Before connecting Claude Cowork to a folder: Claude is approved for Public, Low, and Medium data only —
not High-risk — and Cowork can read, edit, and delete everything in a folder you connect. See the
Tuck AI Data Sensitivity Guide. Microsoft Cowork is a separate product with different rules.
